Accredited Nursing Schools in Ohio

RNs: Registered nurses must be licensed by the state in order to practice. To meet education requirements, individuals must successfully complete a degree or certificate program. These commonly include a nursing diploma, or a associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in nursing. It should be known that more health care industry employers are requiring that RNs have a bachelors degree in the field. After education requirements are met, individuals must apply for and pass the NCLEX exam and submit to a criminal background check. In addition, nurses must take approved continuing education in order to renew their license every two years. There are approximately 117,870 RNs practicing in Ohio.

LPNs: There are approximately 40,860 licensed practical nurses practicing in the state of Ohio. All nurses must be licensed by the state in order to practice. To meet education requirements, individuals must successfully complete a degree or certificate program from a certificate program or nursing school approved by the state. These commonly include a high school degree and a nursing diploma or certificate or an associate’s degree in nursing.
