Indiana State University did not begin as such. In 1865 the school was founded as the Indiana State Normal School. It has undergone three name changes to become Indiana State University over the last one hundred forty years. It is a public coeducational school located in Terre Haute, Indiana. Indiana State University offers of 100 majors and has degrees available from associates to doctoral. The university is made up of six different colleges: The College of Arts and Sciences, The College of Education, The College of Business, The College of Health and Human Performances, The College of Nursing and The College of Technology. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) can earn their NLNAC-accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree without ever stepping foot in a classroom.
